NY Sports Express is a reference desk for sport in and around New York. It explains how the games work: the rules that decide results, the dimensions of the fields and courts, how drafts and schedules are built, and how the venues of the metropolitan area connect to the city.
What we cover
Eight sections: Football, Basketball, Baseball & Hockey, Combat Sports, Golf, Tennis & More, New York, Betting Guides and the general Wire.
How the pieces are made
Each explainer is built from a primary source such as a league rulebook, a collective bargaining summary, a state statute or a venue’s own history page. The sources are listed at the foot of every piece. Where a figure changes from season to season, the piece says which season it describes.
The archive
The site carried earlier news and guide pages before its relaunch. They remain available at their original addresses, with their original dates where one is known, and are marked as archived material.
